Process
No surprises: gates you approve, deliverables you keep
The same review discipline used on flight hardware, sized for a small team and a real schedule.
Step 01
Intro call
A free 30-minute call about your product, requirements, schedule and constraints.
Step 02
NDA & requirements
A mutual NDA before any files change hands, then a written requirements summary we both agree on.
Step 03
Proposal
Scope, deliverables, review gates, schedule and a fixed quote, with a deposit to start and milestone payments at the gates. No surprises later.
Step 04
Design with review gates
Architecture, schematic and layout each end at a review you approve before the next stage starts.
Step 05
Fab package & handoff
Everything a fab and assembly house needs, plus the design files, decision log and review report.
Step 06
Bring-up support
Help when the boards arrive: bring-up, tuning and fixes if something needs to change.
Review gates
You approve each stage before the next begins
| Gate | What you review |
|---|---|
| Architecture review | Block diagram, cascade and link budget, frequency plan, key part choices and risks. |
| Schematic review | Complete schematic, BOM with availability, power tree, interfaces and test points. |
| Placement review | Stackup, board outline, placement and RF floorplan, approved before a single trace is routed. |
| Layout review | Routed board with DRC clean, impedance and isolation checks, EM results for critical structures. |
Handoff
The package you receive
- Gerbers or ODB++, drill files and fab drawing with stackup and impedance table
- BOM with manufacturer part numbers and alternates
- Pick-and-place and assembly drawings
- 3D STEP model of the board
- Native KiCad project: schematic, layout and libraries
- Design review report and decision log
- Simulation files and results (cascade, openEMS)
Tooling
Modern tools, engineer accountability
Automated checks
Scripted ERC and DRC, netlist comparison between revisions, and checks for current capacity, creepage and clearance that run every time the design changes.
Decision log
Every non-obvious choice is recorded with the alternatives and the evidence, so you can see why the design is the way it is.
Engineer sign-off
AI-assisted tooling speeds up the repetitive work and documentation. Every engineering decision is reviewed and signed off by me.
Confidential by default
Your files go to cloud-based AI tools only if you agree. If your project can’t use them, the work runs entirely on local tools.
